What your profile shows

Your background, in brief.

Drawn from your LinkedIn profile. If anything here is out of date, let me know and I will update it.

Qualification

Master's in Educational Psychology

From Stellenbosch University (2022), building on a BA and BA Honours in Psychology from Nelson Mandela University.
Current work

Educational Psychologist

With the Western Cape Education Department since 2023, based in the Cape Winelands.
Also brings

Education and languages

A Postgraduate Certificate in Education and a BA Honours in English, plus fluency in English and Afrikaans: useful for working closely with schools and families.
Your likely route

The path to registration, step by step.

Psychologists trained outside Australia and New Zealand are assessed by the Psychology Board of Australia. This is the likely shape of that route for you. The Board makes every decision along the way.

  1. 1

    Gather your documents

Your Stellenbosch and Nelson Mandela University transcripts, proof of your internship and supervised practice, and your current HPCSA registration. We will give you a checklist.
  2. 2

    English language evidence

We will confirm with you whether you need an approved English test, or whether an exemption applies.
  3. 3

    Apply to Ahpra

Your application goes to Ahpra, and the Psychology Board assesses whether your qualification and training meet its requirements.
    Decided by the Psychology Board
  4. 4

    Any conditions the Board sets

The Board may ask for a period of supervised practice and the National Psychology Exam. If so, you would complete your supervision with us, through our Board-approved supervisor.
  5. 5

    Your visa

Your visa options are confirmed by a registered migration agent. We work with Amber at Unite Migration, who has supported our overseas staff, and if you are already working with an agent, we are happy to work alongside them.
