Shaakera, thank you for getting back to me so quickly. As promised, here is a short, personal overview of what joining our team in Adelaide could look like for you: your likely route to registration, what we would need to confirm, what the role involves and what it pays.
Drawn from your LinkedIn profile. If anything here is out of date, let me know and I will update it.
From the University of the Witwatersrand (2015), building on your BA and BA Honours in Psychology and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education.
At the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls since 2021, alongside your own educational psychology practice since 2018.
Psycho-educational, emotional, concession and career assessments, plus psychotherapy, play therapy and parent guidance, going back to your internship at Epworth Therapy and Assessment Centre.
Psychologists trained outside Australia and New Zealand are assessed by the Psychology Board of Australia. This is the likely shape of that route for you. The Board makes every decision along the way.
Your Wits transcripts, proof of your internship and supervised practice, and your current HPCSA registration. We will give you a checklist.
We will confirm with you whether you need an approved English test, or whether an exemption applies.
Your application goes to Ahpra, and the Psychology Board assesses whether your qualification and training meet its requirements.
Decided by the Psychology BoardThe Board may ask for a period of supervised practice and the National Psychology Exam. If so, you would complete your supervision with us, through our Board-approved supervisor.
Your visa options are confirmed by a registered migration agent. We work with Amber at Unite Migration, who has supported our overseas staff, and if you are already working with an agent, we are happy to work alongside them.
Advised by a registered migration agentYour profile tells a strong story. These are the gaps a 20-minute call would fill.

There are steps on both sides along the way, and we walk through each one with you. Timings depend on the Board's assessment and your visa, so we will map them out together.
A relaxed 20-minute call about you, your goals and the role.
We look at your qualification, HPCSA registration, supervised hours and English evidence.
A written offer covering the role, salary, start window and visa support.
