Who writes our guides

Our guides are written by Conscious Healthcare SA team members, working with the clinicians who deliver each service. Each guide shows the author's name, their role and registration, and a link to their profile.

Most guides are prepared by our founder, Trevor Keen, a registered physiotherapist with a psychology degree. Practitioners may also write guides about their own field.

How we check our guides

Every fact about Medicare, the NDIS, SA Health or registration rules is checked against the official source before a guide is published, and that source is linked in the guide.

Details about how CHSA works, such as fees, appointments and who you'll see, come from our own team. Where a practitioner has reviewed a guide, their name and registration appear on it.

Sources we use

We link to the sources behind the facts in each guide. We prefer:

  • Australian government sources, such as the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, Services Australia, MBS Online, the NDIS and SA Health
  • Regulators and professional bodies, such as AHPRA, the national boards and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners
  • National clinical guidelines and peer-reviewed research

Where a fact is specific to CHSA, such as our fees or how our assessments run, it comes from our own team and our fees page.

Keeping guides up to date

Health rules, rebates and services change. We review each guide at least every 12 months, and sooner when a rule it covers changes. Each guide shows the date it was last reviewed.

Standards we follow

  • We follow AHPRA's guidelines for advertising a regulated health service and the NDIS Code of Conduct.
  • We don't publish testimonials about clinical care, promise outcomes, or compare ourselves with other providers.
  • We use neuro-affirming, person-first language, in plain Australian English.
  • We never include information about our clients.
  • Our guides are general information, not advice about your situation. Talk to your GP or one of our team about what's right for you.

Independence

We don't accept payment or sponsorship for our guides. Our guides link to our own services where they're relevant, and we say so plainly.

Reporting an error

If you think something in one of our guides is wrong or out of date, email enquiries@chcsa.com.au with the page address. We'll check it and correct it within 5 business days if it's wrong.
